Frankie Ruiz, often called “El Papá de la Salsa”, was one of the most iconic and influential voices of the salsa romántica movement. Known for his raw emotion and effortless phrasing, Frankie Ruiz brought a new level of emotional intensity and rhythmic finesse to salsa in the ’80s and ’90s. He is known for his improvisational skills, something that he conveyed with creativity through his voice, capable of turning mediocre lyrics into a hit song.
