TIMBALIVE
Founded by drummer and musical director Leo García in 2008, Timbalive quickly rose to international recognition—breaking a long-standing superstition that Miami was a sort of Timba graveyard, a place believed to have ended the careers of several Cuban musicians in the past. One of the most distinctive aspects of Timbalive’s style is their use of the full tempo spectrum, with tracks in the 205+ BPM range as well as well as ones as slow as 168 BPM. Tempos in this range are rare in Timba, they do, however, allow for incredibly sophisticated piano tumbaos that simply wouldn’t work in faster-paced tracks.
This section features full transcriptions of their biggest hits, transcribed note-for-note from the original recordings. Each title includes separate scores for each instrument, MIDI file of the Full arrangement including Percussion parts and an MP3 backing track. All sub-products can be purchased individually or as part of a discounted full package. Piano and Bass charts come with Note-for-Note MIDI Transcriptions, ideal for both learners and seasoned musicians.
